Joe Hugh Paden Dies in Houlka
Joe Hugh Peden died at 2:30 am Monday at his home south of Houlka. He was 63, a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was the son of the late Walter Stewart Peden and Estelle Waldrop Peden.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 pm at Houlka Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Rutledge, assisted by Rev. Julian West officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, with Houlka Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Grace Austin Peden, four sons, Robert Earl Peden of Houlka, Hugh Stanley of Ft. Worth, Tex., Walter Stewart of Pontotoc, Raymond Austin Peden of Houston, Miss.; three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Lane Davis of Houlka, Mrs. Josephine Higginbotham of Tupelo; and Thelma Ann Peden of the home.
Pallbearers were: James Chrestman, R A Easley, C W Collums, G C Turner, Jr., Wilton Chrestman, and Mack Hinton.

Peden Survivor's Name Omitted
In the obituary notice concerning the late Joe Hugh Peden of Houlka that was published in last week's issue of this newspaper, the name of a survivor was inadvertently omitted.
Mrs. Charles M Norman of Houston is a sister of the late Mr. Peden, and she is now the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mr. Peden, 63, was a retired farmer and carpenter.
