Sam grew up living with his grandparents, Arnold Jackson "A J" Perry & Mnerva Jane "Nervie" Queen.
Sam's grandparents catered to his every whim. Sam was a very handsome young man, who loved horses and life, which he lived on the wild side.
His life was cut short on the day he went out to buy a dog. That day Sam's big white horse came home without him. When family found him he was dead near the railroad tracks. Sam had been murdered. Gone at the age of 22.
Grandfather closed up his store, soon after, and moved the family to Kentucky. Grandfather was on the 1930 Census as a resident of Menifee.
