Herman W. Pfeiffer, 89

Herman W. Pfeiffer, 89, of Arlington, died Sunday, August 29, 1999, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services were Wednesday, September 1 at the Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Lynn Martin of the Arlington Community Church officiated.

Herman W. Pfeiffer was born April 23, 1910, to Henry and Ella (Menking) Pfeiffer in Arlington.

He grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from February 18, 1943 to April 9, 1946 as a captain and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and the Southern Philippines.

He was a retired farmer and dairy man and lived in the Arlington area all his life and was a member of the Arlington Community Church.

He is survived by his brother, Walt Pfeiffer of Arlington; two sisters, Margaret Rhea of Ft. Morgan, Colo. and Dora Bradley of Wichita, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Clarence Pfeiffer; three sisters, Katherine Dalrymple, Ruth Pfeiffer and Helen Heuerman.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Fund.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
