Born Dec. 21, 1920, in Greencastle, he was the son of Emory Curtis and Ethel Dora (Dunn) Lawrence.
He was a derrick operator for Hoadley Stone Co. in Bloomington.
He was of the Protestant faith and belonged to the American Legion in Spencer.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Roberts of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one son, James E. Lawrence of Anza, Calif.; one sister, LaVonne Fielder of South Park, Texas; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Fry Lawrence; three brothers; and one sister.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Gosport. Burial will be at Gosport Cemetery.
