Thomas, Ethel Mae-Born Dec. 7, 1891. Departed this life Nov. 28, 1975 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of the late Maynard Cecil and the late Arlena Marcum Cecil, a member of the Bethalonia United Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to the late Marris[Morris] Thomas, and to this union were born 7 children, 4 girls and 3 boys. Her husband and one son and one daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters, Jerome Thomas and Willie Thomas, both of Oneida, Mrs. Bill Sutton of Lubback, Texas, Mrs. Nancy Watson, and Mrs. Maudie Kidd both of Oneida, Tenn. 2 brothers, James O'Neal and Lawrence O'Neal and 1 sister, Mattie Cotton all of Oneida, 24 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives. We feel our loss is Heaven's gain. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 1, 1975 at Collins and Murley Mortuary, with Rev. Odis Watson and Rev. James E. Marcum officiating.
