Darla Jean Key, 53 of Springfield and formerly of Danville and Decatur, died 8:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at her home in Springfield.
Darla was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Danville to Donald and Roberta Louise Ford Pruitt. She attended North Ridge, Danville High and Danville Area Community College.
She had worked at the Big Barrel, Kelley Services, St. James Methodist Church, OSI and with Judge Cleary. She had worked at Danville Department of Corrections from 1989-1998. She was currently working for AT&T, having worked in Decatur and Springfield since 2004.
She was a member of the AT&T union and enjoyed crocheting and genealogy.
Darla married Lawrence Jeffrey Seal in 1972 and he survives. She married Leslie Michael Shuck on June 4, 1983, at St. James Church and he survives. She married Robert Claypool Key in 1998 and he survives.
Also surviving are children John Christopher (Mandy Danner) Seal of Catlin and Stephanie (John) Martin of Decatur; three grandchildren, Victoria A. Martin, Patrick D. Martin and Nicholas A. Martin; three sisters, Karen Pruitt and twins Sonya (Darren) Maurer and Shelia Mack. She was preceded by her parents.
Visitation starts at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, with services at 2 p.m. at Pape Funeral Home.
