Funeral service was at 1 p.m. June 18, at the Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Autry and the Rev. Willie Jo Haak officiating.
Burial will follow the service at New Harp Cemetery with arrangements under the direction Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Carpenter was born Feb. 12, 1926 in Greenwood to Austin Zach and Ruby (Yar) Burchard. She married Edmond W. Carpenter on Oct. 13, 1942 in Decatur.
Pallbearers were Steve Hunt, Steve Cleveland, Willie Lovejoy, David Riddles, Nelson Swaim and Paul Arrington. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Victory Baptist Church and grandsons
Survivors include her sons, Wayne Carpenter and wife, Georgia of Alvord, Gary Carpenter and wife, Ruth of Park Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
She was proceded in death by her husband, Edmond Carpenter; parents, Austin and Ruby Burchard; baby sister, two infant babies of her own, one grandson and two great grandchildren
