Silas Hamilton married Achsah Barns of Weston Mass. on July 20,1793
On the 24th day of Januarary 1833,Silas Hamilton appeared before the court of Cayuga New York.From the town of Victory; at the aged of 72 years to give a sworn declaration / oath of his service during the Revolutionary War.
That he was born in the town of New Ashford,Berkshire county Massachusetts.
Silas entered the service on December 20,1776,as a substitute for one Wiliam Petits. Under the command of Captain Douglas,Liet.Lewis in the Regimenent commanded by Colonel Simmons Mass. Regiment.
Silas was then stationed at Fort Ticondaroga New York.Under the command of General Anthony Wayne.At the age of 15!!!
After three months of service he was discharged and went in company with his Father.(John I.Farmer SR.)
Then;
July 1777 in Captain A.Babbit Company of Col.Simonie Regt.
August 15, 1777 Captain Clarks's Regiment and was in the Battle of Bennington.
Moving to Little Hoosick New York,he then enlisted in September 1778 under Lieutenant Snyders' New York Company.
He enlisted in September 1779 and served in Captain Shaw's New York Company.
He enlisted in April 1780 and served under the command of Captain Harrison's Company,Colonel Harpers' New York Regiment.
Silas Hamilton was granted his pension on January 24, 1833 in the town of Victory,Cayuga County New York.
