HE HAS A MEMORIAL STONE IN New Lebanon Cemetery in Blountville, Blount County, AL because he and his first wife were two of the early settlers, along with his father and mother. He is buried here in Coldwater, Tate County, MS with his second wife, Judith TROUT Hood.
He was born in Halifax County, VA. Then he was found in Wilkes County, NC in 1781, where he married. In 1790 he was in Wake County, NC. In 1800 he was in the Pendleton District, SC. In 1810 he was in Lancaster County, SC. It was here he joined the military in 1818. By 1820 he was in Franklin County, TN. Then he was found in 1830 in White County. TN. His first wife is buried in New Lebanon Cemetery in Blountville, Blount County, AL.

Humphrey "Nipper" Hood married Sarah Truesdale Hood (d. 1829 in AL). Their children: Alexander Jesse Hood (1820-1899), Matthew Humphrey Hood (1827-?) & Sarah Hood Vestal (1829-1871).
