Mathias Schackmuth, a pioneer resident of Kenosha, passed away at the family residence, 707 Fifth Avenue, at 8:00 o'clock this morning, after an illness of complications brought on by infirmities due to advanced age. Mr. Schackmuth was 65 years old. He was widely known throughout the city and has many friends and relatives to mourn his loss.
Mr. Schackmuth had been a member of the carpernters' local since its organization and was active in all the affairs of the body.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Sophia, and daughters, Mrs. Ray. J. Eckenrode, and the Misses Dora and Margaret Schackmuth.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock at St. Mark's church. Burial will be made in the St. James cemetery (St. George). Publication: Kenosha Evening News, Feb. 23, 1928
