Jac LaFon, 85, of Auxvasse died Thursday, March 25, 1999.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Auxvasse United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Auxvasse Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, at the church.
Mr. LaFon was born June 6, 1913, in Sedgwick, Ark., to William Forrest and Elsie Graham Smith LaFon.
He married Evelyn Smith, and she survives.
He was a veteran of World War II. He was employed by Kaiser Refractories in raw materials for 36 years and was employed for seven years at Public Water District No. 2, where he obtained easements and was a construction inspector. He was a member of Auxvasse United Methodist Church, Missouri Big Bucks Club and Boone & Crockett Club. Through the Missouri Department of Conservation, he helped to establish a wild turkey population in Central Missouri.
Survivors also include two daughters, Mary Jac LaFon Hall of Jefferson City and Kathy LaFon Coleman of Springfield; a sister, Evalyn Moore of Auxvasse and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Memorials are suggested to Auxvasse United Methodist Church or Children's Therapy and Early Education School of Mexico, Mo.
