HAZLEHURST, Ga. -- Mr. Judson Neely Boggs Jr., 81, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Savannah.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Miles Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Glosson officiating. Burial will be in Hazlehurst City Cemetery, Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, Georgia, USA

Mr. Boggs, a native of Coffee County, had retired as president from Jeff Davis Bank. He was a member of Rotary Club, a Harris Fellow, a member of Freemasonry of Albany, Masonic Lodge 28, Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Georgia St. Paul 24, Scottish Rite and Georgia Bankers Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and had received a Purple Heart. He was a member of 78th Division Veteran's Association.

Survivors include his wife, Tommie Boggs, Hazlehurst; a son, Neely Boggs, Ridge Springs, S.C.; a brother, Bruce Boggs, Albany; three sisters, Mary Francis Joiner, Albany, Winona Vantassel, Huntley, Ill., and Catherine King, Lawrenceville; and two grandchildren two step-grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hazlehurst.
