James DePuy Enderly, 47, of Accord, an instructor in the Fine Arts Department at Parsons College, Iowa, perished Friday morning in a fire at his apartment in Fairfield, Iowa. He was a brother of Mrs. William C. (Verna) Anderson of Accord. He is also survived by one niece, one nephew and several cousins. He was born in Whitfield on May 31, 1921, son of the late Jerome and Ida DePuy Enderly. He was a member of the Rochester Reformed Church, Accord, and was a graduate of Kingston High School and Spencer Business School. He served three and a half years in the armed forces during World War II, and after his discharge he worked with the State Department in Germany. Later he moved to Norfolk, Va., where he served as assistant director of the Richmond Area Educational Services. He received his BA and Masters Degrees from the Richmond Professional Institute of William and Mary College in fine arts. After nine years association with radio broadcasting in South Boston, Va., he came to Kingston radio station WGHQ in 1961 and in 1965 he became an instructor in the Fine Arts Department at Parsons College, Fairfield, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the College Chapel, Fairfield Iowa, and on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the H. B. Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson, with the Rev. Gerard Van Dyk officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Cemetery, Accord.
