Harold grew up on a farm in Fairplay, Ga. and later joined the military during WWII. After retiring from the USCG he owned Daniel-Nelson Florist for numerous years before retiring completely. Harold was a long time resident of the Jacksonville, Fl. area. He was an avid gardener, a very active member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, and was well known throughout the community for the generous help he lent to others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his sister, Doris and his parents, Calvin George and Lessie Mae Daniel.
He is survived by his children: Harold B."Dan" Daniel, Jr. (Jeanette), Phyllis Wood, and Phillip Daniel; grandchildren: Ashley Payne, Amy O'Leary, Michael Wood, Jr., and Adrienne and Erin Daniel; great grandchildren: Bailey and Maya Ellis, Abigail Payne, and Gage and Kyler O'Leary; sisters: Mildred Malcom of Monroe, Drue Willie Atha, and Dorothy Prather of Monroe; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral Services in celebration of his life were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 2 at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Garden of Devotion at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
