Emma Lucy McKinnon Thornock, 79, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004 in the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
Emma Lu was born June 24, 1924, in Randolph, Utah to Ernest A and Mary Webb McKinnon. She chose to marry Russell Thornock for eternity on February 1, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have lived and raised their family of six children in Cokeville.
Emma Lu devoted 60 years to being the very best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to ever live on earth. She was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings during her lifetime. She was loved by all who knew her for her compassion sense of humor and unconditional love for everyone.
Emma Lu is survived by her husband Russell of Cokeville; six children; J.R. of Evanston; Mary Lue (Glenn) Birch and Ernie (Karen) both of Cokeville; Connie (John) Bird of Green River; Julie (Dan) Wiegand of Logan; Jeff (Jolane) of Layton, Utah, 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two sisters Evelyn Burliegh of Evanston and Ruth (Herb) Lane of Roy Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Kathryn Rogers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Mar, 16, at 1 p.m. in the Cokeville LDS Chapel. Burial took place in the Cokeville Cemetery.
