MRS. MARTHA HARRISON
Martha Catherine Hamilton was born in Washington county, Indiana, May 6, 1840 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gilleland, Saturday, Feb. 21, 1920 at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 15 days.
On Oct. 10, 1857, she was united in marriage to James Harrison and to this union were born nine children, five girls and four boys: Sarah A., Julia A., Mrs. G. W. Gilleland, Mrs. Millie Hudson, Chas B. Harrison, Thomas E. Harrison, Jimmie E. Harrison, Mrs. Nancy Rudolf and Frank Harrison, all of whom remain to mourn her loss except Sarah A., who died in infancy and Julia A., who passed away Nov. 12, 1889 at the age of 28 years.
Besides the children she leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary Driscoll of Princeton, Mo., who on account of sickness was unable to attend the funeral. Twenty seven grandchildren, also seven great grandchildren survive her.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, Feb. 23, at the Gilleland home, Rev. W. J. Stewart conducting the services, after which the remains were taken to the Wight cemetery for burial.
