Sylvia Lavetta Karnatz, born to Emma and Jess Beeler on April 9, 1886 in a dugout south and west of Guide Rock, passed away at the Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, May 22, 1969 at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 13 days.

Sylvia spent her entire life in the Guide Rock Community and had the privilege of seeing many changes in the way of life, from her days of living in a dug-out to the modern way of life.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Ernest of their home in Guide Rock, her son Jess and daughter in law Dorothy of Des Moines, Iowa and one brother Clarence Bekler of Long Beach, California, also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Simonson chapel with Rev Henry Demler officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs Connie Hunter and Miss Charlene Gilliland. They were accompanied by Mrs Shirley Hunter.

Pallbearers were Calvert Fisher, Glen Shaw, Henry Brooks, L R Brooks, Ronald Payne and Albert Payne.

Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.
