John Whiting Brown, 81, died July 12, 2003 in Mesa.
He was born in St. Johns Jan. 23, 1922 and spent his entire life in Arizona. He served a hitch in the US Navy during World War II. John worked as a refrigeration technician for most of his life.
He is survived by his son, Michael Farr (Patti) Brown of Eagar; three daughters, Bonnie Kay (Gale) Bryce of Orem, Utah, Lynda (Terry) Lee of Mesa and Susan (Gene) Wikle of Mesa; sisters, Beverly Killpack of Utah, Cathleen Wilson of Idaho, Margaret McGinnis of Phoenix, and Roberta Williams of Phoenix; and one brother, Frank Brown of California. His legacy consists of 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Norma; and a son, John A. Brown.
Visitation will be held July 19 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the St. Johns LDS Downtown Chapel, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
