HARTSVILLE -- Services for William Christopher "Chris" Smith, 47, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Brown- Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mr. Smith died Sunday, Dec. 4, 1994. Born in Hampton, Va., he was a son of Edward Christopher Jr. and Sarah Carnines Smith. He was a graduate of Ferrum Junior College, Western Carolina University and Francis Marion University. He was a second-grade teacher with Washington Street School and an adult education teacher. He was co-president of Hartsville Band Boosters and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Edna Johnson Smith; a daughter, Kimberly Smith of Hartsville; his parents of Poquoson, Va.; and paternal grandfather, Edward Smith Sr. of Poquoson.
