She was born January 10, 1917 at Sulphur Rock, Arkansas the daughter of Albert Smith and Sarah Ann Smith.
She and her husband, Melvin Casey, owned and managed a service station/grocery store in Sulphur Rock for many years. She also worked at several companies in Batesville, retiring from White Rogers. She enjoyed her family, canning, cooking, and visiting with others. She never met a stranger. She was a member of West Baptist Church in Batesville and was involved in many church activities, including Sunday school and hospital visitation.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Ann (Casey) Shell of Branson, Missouri; grandsons, Michael G. Shell and his wife, Donna of Longmont, Colorado, Mitchell L. Shell and his wife, Susan, of Rogers, Arkansas, and Marcus R. Shell of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and great-grandchildren, Mariah B. Shell and Ciera B. Shell of Longmont, Colorado.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Casey; sisters, Beulah Lovell, Opal Milligan, Mary Muff, Birtie Smith, Gertie Smith, Dora Smith, Audrey Smith and Eulah Smith; and brothers, Joe Smith, Jessie Smith, and J.A. Smith.
Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gary McKim, Gerald Gaither, Jim Reid, Lavon Huskey, Gordon French and Melvin Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. and Mrs. Bob Slaughter, Clifford and Ailene Reynolds, and Durwood and Edith Elms.
