David Chalmer Proudfit, 90, formerly of the Bloomfield area, died at 2 a.m. Friday, September 29, 1967 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Craig Lawrence of London, Ohio.
He was born June 23, 1877, in Muskingum County, a son of the late David L. and Elizabeth Thompson Proudfit.
He farmed the greater part of his life in the Bloomfield area. He was a life-long member of Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church, and for many years was an elder of the church session.
In addition to Mrs. Lawrence, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Lulu) Morrow of Old Wheeling Road, Zanesville; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. His wife, the former, Myrtle Kennedy, died in 1930. A son and daughter are deceased.
