Miss Hortense Mary Bertrand was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the year 1864 and departed this life July 25, 1931 at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 17 days.
She lived in Chicago and various points of Illinois. She was united in marriage to Weert R. Lammers on January 13, 1885 at Ashkum, (Iroquois, County), Illinois, later moving to Nebraska. They resided in Pleasant Valley and later moved to Pleasanton, Nebraska in the fall of 1916 and lived there the remainder of her life. She had been in poor health for the past three years.
She leaves to mourn her departure, husband, two daughters and four sons: Claus, of Miller; Mary, of Pleasanton; Frank, Arthur, Raymond, of Pleasant Valley; Anna, of Kearney, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, one brother in Illinois and a host of other relatives and many friends.
One daughter preceded her in death.
