Sergeant William N. Geyer, United States Army, was held as a Prisoner of War after his unit was overrun during the Korean War on 1 Dec 1950 and was held until his release on 5 Sep 1953 after the signing of the Armistice.

William "Sarge" Geyer, 74, Pembine, died Saturday, Jan 5, at a Green Bay Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was born 25 Aug 1927 in Green Bay to the late Mr and Mrs William (Josephine Mertens) Geyer.

He served in the US Army during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a POW during the Korean War for three years and was the last to be released.

On 31 Jul 1979 he married the former Roxanne Carlson at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base.

Visitation will be at West Mason Malcore Funeral Home in Green Bay on Friday, Jan 11, from 4 to 7 pm, with funeral service at 7 pm.

Burial will be at King Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
