Evelyn Cook Whitman, 89, of Frametown died Nov. 11, 2005, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway.
Born April 15, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Elbin and Bessie Fox Cook.
She was a schoolteacher and merchant and worked in the furniture industry. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church, Frametown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Kirk Whitman, in 1977.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Hope Baptist Church, Frametown, with Pastor Rich Demastus and Pastor Renee Tyo officiating.
