Marjorie Frost Marshall Sandquist was born January 17, 1913 in Aripine, Arizona to Allen and Pearl (Turley) Frost. Marjorie, Marge as she preferred was the fifth born child and she took her place in helping the family at a young age. At 4 it was her job (joy) to ride 4 high on the families mare and take her siblings to school, she would return each afternoon to bring them home. She had a true love for baseball and was very good, her Mother would speak of sending her with an extra dress due to her sliding during recess.
As was common in that day, Marge left home very young to board and work on a cattle ranch. With a marriage Marge was blessed with sons Ronald and Marvin yet this was a very difficult time as Marge would suffer the loss of her precious Father.
Her ethics on a good days work would not be lost and would carry her thru a good life. While in Joseph City AZ. Marge met and married Alver C. Marshall and they would take their tiny family west. They settled for a moment near Kingman AZ and lost their first child, this was never spoken of but I am certain weight heavily on her heart. Life for the Marshall family was a rough, simple slice of heaven. Waking and Working in the harshest desert climate would bring great reward as the family moved to the Walking Box Ranch, the Marshall family was working for Hollywood royalty. Rex Bell and Clara Bow were a joyous part of Marge's life and it's safe to say treasured memories.
It would be during this time the family would grow again and the Marshall's would find their forever home just outside of Searchlight NV.
The last Marshall Ranch was started, and would come to know the fulfillment of their family. Marge's greatest achievement and blessing was family. In 1960 Marge was again tested with the loss of her husband, leaving her the sole responsibility of caring for their children and a cattle ranch.
In 1962 Marge would meet and marry Mr. Earnest "Sandy" Sandquist, together they continued to nurture her family and work hard to maintain their bar and casino. They would work to build a second business and were trusted as the place to go for anyone needing help.
In 1970 Marge would loose her beloved Mother. Oh how she loved and missed her!
Marge would be a trusted friend, caretaker, banker and Santa to the children of Searchlight, no child would go without a gift on Christmas. Her hands would leave many of quilts and afghans to wrap her family in her love and hold each of us to this day.
Her dedication to her town was absolute only to be matched by her family.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Pearl (Turley) Frost, her siblings.
Her sons Baby AC Marshall, Marvin Marshall. And Grandsons Gary Brian Marshall and Todd Marshall.
She is Survived by Ronald (Thelma) Marshall, Alver (Karen) Marshall, Richard Marshall, Dena (Wayne) Faire, Linda Marshall, Connie (Jerry) Parr. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Yesterday, I went to a very Impressive funeral service for a very Loved lady, a Lady that has put a many stitches into the community of Searchlight NV.

She has mended lives, put couples together, patched many of families and individuals. She was the silk thread that made everyone from moviestars, political people, family and many friends.

You would feel the love of her being stitched into your heart when she spoke. This Lady was way more than a person could ever imagine on trying to write on paper.

She was like a Quilt, which she made a many!! She had a little of everything, did a little of everything. Her as the finished product was a Bunch little pieces, that was stitched together with her love that you could wrap up in and feel at total peace and appreciation. Or you could stand back and admire the detail she put into every little stitch.

Marge Sandquist we will all miss your gentle smile and eyes of mischief! But we will always carry the love you have stitched into our heart!

Yesterdays service was a small piece of her quilt, she put stitiches of love into the lives of everyone that made your service. The service was stuffed full of people that came to say goodbye.

I am sure there was many times that amount of people in that building, that couldn't make the service. They said a quiet goodbye, where ever they were, they too will carry that silk stitch of love forever!

Thanks Marge for the Silk thread of LOVE, 91 years of stitching on a quilt of life, can be seen and felt in our heart forever!
