George R. Darby, 88, died Saturday afternoon at his home in Pleasanton.
He was born at Table Rock, Nebraska, to Rev. J. E. and Charlotte Bremerman Darby. He was a resident of Pleasanton for 67 years. He farmed until his retirement and was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his two sons, James E. and Richard E., both of Pleasanton; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great children. His wife, LouVera Reese Darby, died March 17, 1953.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Pleasanton United Methodist Church with the Rev. C. L. Sheffield officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery with the Anderson-Johnson-Horner Mortuary in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Thane Darby, KeithReese, Bryce Erickson, Randall Pearson, Richard Darby Jr., and Albert Erickson Jr.
Memorials are planned to the Pleasanton UM Church.
