Nellie Christine Tanner, 68, of Davis was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Newnan, Ga., to James Ernest and Nellie Lee (Short) Jacobs and died Jan. 13, 2007. Cremation with burial will be held at a later date.

Survivors include: five children, Deborah S. Whitmire of Cuming, Ga., Kathy S. McClure of Marietta, Ga., Wanda S. Jenkins of Jacksonville, Ga., Danny Smith of Glenville, Ga., and James Smith Jr. of Cartersville, Ga.; three sisters; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
