James (1853) Bennett's death certificate gave his year of birth as 1854, but in 1860 he was 8 years old, 1870 he was 17 and 1880, 27, so listed his birth year as 1853. James death certificate shows his father as James Bennett and his mother's maiden name as McCormack. As many thought that the siblings listed below were children of William & Martha Bennett. But perhaps Wm. & James Bennett were twins, they were brothers and born close together about 1820. When James & Margaret both died between 1860-1870, William & Martha took the younger children and raised them. Martha stated on the 1900 census that she never had children.
