Mrs. Leo (Lillian) Matus, age 91, of Altus, Oklahoma, formerly of West and Waco, passed away Friday evening, April 14, 2000 in Oklahoma.

Rosary was recited at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West; followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:15 p.m., with the Rev. Angelo Bertini as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West.

Mrs. Matus was born June 3, 1908 in West to Tom and Lena Motis and had lived in Wafdo most of her life before moving to Altus, Oklahoma in 1990 to be with her daughter. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco.

Mrs. Matus was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and a loving husband of 63 years, Leo Matus, who died June 17, 1996.

She is survived by three daughters, Rita Jean Jones of Rancho Cardova, California, Ilene Fayak and her husband Edward of Altus, Oklahoma and Kathleen Matus of Irving, one brother, Leon Matus of Bellmead; six grandchildren, Jennifer Jones Goolis, Judy Jones Reithmeier, Janice Jones Miller, Janelle Jones Georgette, Brian Fayak and Renee Fayak Bauman and 14 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Sean Bauman, Brian Fayak, Richard Matus, Robert Busby, Matthew Matus and Steve Matus.

Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
