Mrs. Rudie Kubala, age 89 of West, passed away May 16, 1998 in a Waco hospital.

Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial followed at 10:15 with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West.

Mrs. Kubala was born October 23, 1908 in West and had lived in the West area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, the 50-50 Club and C.D.A. Court #829 of West.

Mrs. Kubala was employed as a bookkeeper for Kozelski Motors and Sykora Family Ford for 35 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband John, who died July 17, 1983.

Survivors include two sons: John F. Kubala of Arlington and Raymond Kubala of Round Rock; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John David Kubala, Michael Kubala, John Crocker, Richard Kubala, Bill Dendy and N. Bruce McPherson.

Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
