John Wright Burnham was the son of Henry Burnham. The name of John's mother was unknown to the informant on John's Missouri Death Certificate 24166. However, his obituary states his mother's name was Emily Burnham.
John was first married to Silvy McFarland in 1871. They had one daughter, Emily Emma Belle Burnham (Mrs. S. P. Telford), and one son who died in infancy.
On June 14, 1879, in Chariton County, Missouri, John married Melinda Frances Atterbury (1856-1892). They had the following children:

Elizabeth Ann died in March of 1943 and was buried beside her first husband Jacob Bruce at La Plata Cemetery in Macon County, Missouri. John died the same years, in July of 1943, and was buried at Bunce Cemetery.
