Zella Maude Lasley, 101, a lifelong resident of Chanute, Kansas, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Chanute Health Care.
She was born Nov. 4, 1900, in rural Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas E. and Almeda (Clements) Webb.
She married Luke T. Lasley on April 11, 1923, in Iola. He died Jan. 13, 1985.
She was a member of the Big Creek Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service, near Leanna, KS.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting and bingo.
Survivors include a son, Wayne E. Lasley, of Leawood, KS; three daughters, Iris Schurr, of Murrysville, PA, Alice Riddle, of Chanute, KS, and Carol Mueller, of Olathe, KS; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Sherman, Clifford, Kenneth, and Clarence Webb; four sisters, Ruth Berry, Mildred Tripp, Opal Frank, and Inez Daniels; and a foster daughter, Ima Jane Webb.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel, led by Dr. Allard Garren. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas.
Memorials to the American Parkinson's Association are suggested, and may be left at the funeral home. Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel, 16 N. Forest, Chanute, KS 66720, is in charge of arrangements.
