Betty Joe Mickle Howard, of Moncks Corner, wife of Jack Glento Howard, Sr., passed away on the morning of November 17, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, in Mt. Pleasant.
Born on June 25, 1940 in Columbus, GA, she was the daughter of the late Luther Mack Mickle and the late Vera Maybelle Corken Mickle.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her husband of over 54 years, Jack Glento Howard, Sr.; four daughters, Linda Sue Smith of California, Vedera "Sissy" Lynn Dean of Alabama, Donna Brunson Marston and Cindy Ann Sweatman both of Moncks Corner, SC; two sons, Jack "Bubba" Howard, Jr. and Holland Howard V, both of Moncks Corner; 27 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Sherrer of Alabama, Sue Hudson of Alabama; one half sister, Evelyn Mickle of Georgia; four brothers, Preston Mickle, Bobby Mickle, Danny Mickle and Benny Mickle, all of Georgia; and one half brother, Sam Mickle of Georgia.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Peggy Walters, and three brothers, Ralph Mickle, Steve Mickle and David Mickle.
Friends and family of Mrs. Howard are invited to attend her funeral service, November 19, 2009, at 3:00 pm, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, North Charleston, with interment following in Carolina Memorial Park.
