He was tall and of a medium build with brown eyes and black hair. The draft record shows he was born 10 September 1879 but other sources show he was born 11 December 1878.
In 1938 Charles was living at Sciota, PA. In 1929, 1945 and 1965 he was living in Saylorsburg, PA. He was a lumberman most of his life, retiring in 1947. He died in the Mountain View Rest Home in Scranton and was buried in Buena Vista Cemetery. (Obit in "The Pocono Record", Monday, 22 March 1965, p. 8)
