Grayce Ester Elliott, daughter of George A and Emily Elliott, was born near Glade, Kansas, on 13 July 1906 and died 1 May 1908 at young age of 11 years, 9 months, 18 days.

The whole community was shocked and saddened when word passed that little Grayce passed away. Though it was known that little Grayce was a very sick girl caused by that treacherous disease, measles, yet few realized her true condition.

Grayce was a very bright little girl and will be sadly missed in her home by father, mother, brothers and sisters, by her young associates, she being a general favorite. She was loved by all who knew her for her fun, sweet, womanly ways by both old and young.

Besides the father, mother, two brothers, and four sisters, she leaves behind her grandmother Mrs. Alex Brown and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and nummerous friends who will mourn because a sweet bud has been blighted; but all alike commend her to the One who said "Suffer little children come unto me"

"Dearest sister thou hast left us,
Here thy loss we deeply feel;
But 'tis God that hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee
Where death's gloomy night has fled;
then on earth with joy to greet thee,
Where no bitter tears are shed.

Another hand is beckoning us,
another call is given;
and glows once more with Angel steps,
the path that leads to heaven.

Unto our Father's will alone,
our thoughts hath reconciled;
that he whose love exceeded ours,
Hath taken Home his child.

Hold her o Father in thine arms
And let her henceforth be,
A messenger of love between,
Our human hearts and Thee."
