Everett was the only son of Jehial "Hiler" Wilcox and his wife, Josephine Maria Allen Wilcox.

He was born in Ware, Mass. on July 11, 1866, and christened on January 7, 1867, also in Ware.

Everett was a pattern maker. He and his business partner, Lewis Holbrook, formed Wilcox & Holbrook at 275 Main St, in Springfield.

He never married, he remained close to his sister, Effie May, and his mother, Josie. They are buried in the same plot.
