DAVIS Mr. Donald Eugene Davis, age 64, passed away Saturday November 14, 2009 in Pascagoula, MS. He was born August 31, 1945 in Richton, MS. Mr. Davis graduated from Moss Point H.S., Mississippi Gulf Coast Comm College, attainded a Bachelors Degree at University of Southern MS, and a Masters Degree at Mississippi State University. He was a lifetime member of Somerset Chapter, Magna Charta Berons, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order of the Stars and Bars, the Order of the First Families of Mississippi, 1699-1817, and the Scottish Society of the Gulf Coast, a member of General Society of Colonial Wars, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Revolution, and the General Society of the War of 1812. He was a decendant of the Hollands, a pioneer Jackson County family. Charles Miller Holland came here in 1809 and was a veteran of the war of 1812. His father, Charles Holland, came here in 1811 and was a veteran of the Revolutionary war. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Sewell Davis. He is survived by friends, Dick Davis of Gautier, MS, Fred Davis of Gadsden, AL, and Dick (Sandra) Daffin of Greenwood, SC. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 17 at 2:00pm at Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church Outreach Program, Pascagoula, MS. Funeral services with Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS.
