Lester Henry "Sonny" Carr Jr., 49, Wabash, died at 12:48 a.m. Sunday at his home.

He was born Oct. 29, 1957, in Rochester to Lester H. Carr Sr. and Betty Clupper Carr Music. He married Cathy Lehman Walk on May 9, 2006, in Wabash.

He was a member of the Wabash Eagles Lodge. Sonny worked at Smurfit-Stone/ Container Corp. for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, horses and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Carr, Wabash; four daughters, Bridget (Chris) Conliff, Wabash, Amanda Walk, North Manchester, Shawna Wallace, Wabash, and Betha Wallace, Kokomo; three sons, Larry Walk Jr., Panama City, Fla., Ryan Carr, Wabash, and Bryan Carr, Wabash; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Conliff Jr., Destiny Conliff and Andrew Conliff, all of Wabash; Kaleb Kerr, North Manchester, Clayton Walk, Haley Walk, both of Panama City, Fla., Jace Watson, Wabash, Justice Rader and Jordan Rader, both of Kokomo, Heavenly Cox, Wabash, and Braden Hendey, Georgia; three brothers, Linnie Carr, Troy Hurt, both of Wabash, and Robert Carr, Akron; two sisters, Cathy (Jerry) France, Wabash, and Tina Carr Booth, Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The memorial guest book for Sonny may be signed at www.grandstaff-hentgen.com.
