He was the son of Bud and Polly Presley Arp of Vonore, both now deceased.
He was a member of First Friends Church in Knoxville and was an active member of the Anderson County Republican Party. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lillian Baker Arp, a daughter, Pollyanna E. Hall, and four brothers.
Mr. Arp is survived by his son, Bennie R. Arp and wife, Susan, of Knoxville; four grandsons, W. Ken Arp and wife, Camella, of Boston, Mass., Brett B. Arp of Orlando, Fla., Wesley C. Hall and wife, Jennifer, of Nashville, and Jason G. Hall and wife, Heather, of Oak Ridge; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Knight and the Rev. Wade Hickman officiating.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Military rites will be observed at the grave site.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Adventa Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Rd., Suite C, Knoxville, TN 37918.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
