Dana B. Kennedy Parson was born on October 18, 1927 in Braggs, Oklahoma to Bill and Effie (Calvert) Kennedy and went home to glory on Sunday, November 15, 2009. Dana B. married C.D. "Dude" Parson on May 25, 1955 in Poteau, Oklahoma at Church of the Nazarene. Dana B. retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone and was a member of the Braggs American Legion. She attended both the Jesus Name Church in Braggs and B. Street Church of God in Muskogee. She loved and served God well. Her happiest times were spent with family, especially on our music nights. She also loved going out to eat, shopping at the old Hunts Department Store and taking drives through Greenleaf State Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, C.D. "Dude" Parson, two sons, Richard and Michael, sisters, Coweta Hutchinson, Pauline Floyd and Norma Jo Aldridge and a brother, Bob Kennedy. She is survived by daughter Beth and husband, Jim Dillon of Collinsville, son, David "Marty" Parson, of Braggs, grandchildren, Jake, Jessica and Lorna, great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob, brothers and sisters-in-law, Betty Kennedy of Braggs, Hoy and Jennie Parson of Muskogee, Pat and Janie Vowell of Bozeman, MT, her beloved cousin, Jerry Rucks, a special friends, Fran Hutchens Barker, her Manor Care family and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at South Bethel Chapel with Reverend Margaret Hatchett officiating. Arrangements are under the directions of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 5:20.
