Verle Rae Stere, 71, of Woodham,
passed away at his residence on
Sunday, November 15, 2009.
He was born in Wilmot Township,
Waterloo County on September 7,
1938, a son of the late Ezra and Ida
(Gerber) Stere. Verle was a truck
driver for most of his lifetime. He
was predeceased by his first wife, the
former Rachel Elizabeth Butcher on
July 14, 1963 and by his brother Neil
Stere on April 20, 1999. Verle is
survived by two former wives, the
former Verdella Metcalf and the
former Renate Adamenko; his special
friend, Trish Wallace of Woodham;
his sons, Dale and wife Gloria Stere
of Gambo, Newfoundland; Russell
Stere of Breslau; Trevor and wife
Alison Stere of Cambridge; four
grandchildren, Dale Stere Jr., Rachel
Stere, Tyler Stere and Austin Stere;
his brother and sister-in-law, Orval
and Carol Stere of R.R.# 5,
Woodstock; his sister and brother-inlaw,
Ruth Ann and Bob Miller of
Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Ina and
her husband Jim Seyler of Tavistock.
Relatives and friends will be
received in the Francis Funeral
Home, 77 Woodstock Street North,
Tavistock on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.
and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and
7-9 p.m. where the funeral service
will be held on Thursday, November
19, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment will be
in Woodstock Baptist Cemetery,
following cremation. Pastor LaRoyd
Bender will officiate. As expressions
of sympathy, donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society would be
appreciated and may be made
through the Francis Funeral Home
