ELMO- Dennis A. Mortensen, born Sept. 30, 1939 to Carl and Verne Mortensen returned to his Heavenly Father on Sun., Feb. 27, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. He married his childhood sweetheart Janet Kay Erickson on Oct. 10, 1958. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple for time and all eternity to their six children.

Dennis was a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather whose example of strength and optimism will never be forgotten. He was a well-respected businessman who touched the many lives of those who knew him. Dad's life was his family. We all love him and will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife Janet and children, D. Cardell and Mary Mortensen, Price, Kyle Lynn and Ruth Ann Mortensen, Elmo, Cory Ray and Jennifer Mortensen, Price, Kelly Roy and Ruschelle Mortensen, Elmo, and Karlene and Brodie Barnes, Alpine; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers and sisters Vanee and Aullen Larsen, Altamont, Elroy and Janice Mortensen, Elmo, Maryla and Jack Adams, Elmo and Ricki and Allen Edwards, Price.

Preceded in death by his son Brent K. Mortensen and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. March 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Elmo LDS Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services on Wednesday at the Elmo church. Burial in the Elmo Cemetery.
