Rufus Bartlett, 99, of Hartman died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.


A native of Hartman, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Anna Green Bartlett, member of the Coal Hill Church of Christ, a Democratic committeeman for Lee Township for many years, retired cattleman, farmer and was employed by Robert Teddar Grocery, Dewey Vardaman Grocery, F. Q. Poynor Grocery and OK Food Market as a meat cutter for 70-plus years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Rusk Bartlett.


Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wilda and Robert Chrisman of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Verda Bartlett of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Robert Bartlett II, Linda Betnar and Janet Hilton, all of Clarksville, and Debra Wofford, Michael Chrisman and Scott Chrisman, all of Ozark; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with Mike Eppinette officiating.


Burial will be in Kendall Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be Robert Bartlett II, Michael Chrisman, Scott Chrisman, Robert Wofford, Tim Hilton, and Danny Betnar.
