George Henry Funk, Sr.
George Henry Funk, Sr. , Burlington, died Saturday morning
at the Health Center in Coldwater.
He was born May 18, 1877 in Wood County, Ohio, the son of
Henry and Mary (Miller) Funk. He married Mary Ann Herringshaw
Jan. 1, 1900. She died in October, 1948. He had lived in Michigan
for the past 38 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leland (Mabel) Stone, Modesto,
Calif.; Mrs. Rosamae Hess, Lansing; Mrs. Gene (Ethyl) Halstead,
Union City; Mrs. Darol (Iva) Bingley, Burlington; two sons, Cloyde J.
Funk, Union City; George M. Funk, Burlington; two brothers, Frank
Funk, Custer, Ohio and Abe Funk, Grand Rapids, Ohio; one sister,
Mrs. Carrie Souvenier of Hoytville, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 13
great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Jenkins
funeral home in Union City with the Rev Wright of Lansing officiating
and Rev. Lee Sickal of Burlington assisting. Internment will follow in
Riverside Cemetery, in Union City.
