Mr. Cassada was a member of the First Baptist Church, South Boston where he was Assistant Treasurer for many years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Cassada was a retired Postmaster of the South Boston Post Office.
Mr. Cassada is survived by his wife of Halifax, Va.; one daughter, Ellen C. Johnson of Halifax, Va.; two sisters, Lucille Cassada and Kathleen C. Johnson, both of South Boston, Va.; and one sister-in-law, Lois C. Cassada of South Boston, Va.
Funeral services for Mr. Cassada will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
