Civil War Vet Dies At Grove

Albert M. Allen, 82, Succumbs After Illness Lasting Several Months

COLUMBUS GROVE, April 12 - Albert M. Allen, 82, Civil war veteran and widely-known resident of Columbus Grove, died Friday morning at his home, following an illness from a complication of diseases which has confined him to his bed for some months.

Albert married Lydia Elizabeth Mericle, on December 9, 1865, in Allen Co., Ohio. His wife, Lydia, died on May 9, 1924, some years ago.

Surviving are nine children. They are Marion, David, Jacob E. and Harmon L. Allen, all of Columbus Grove; Mrs. John Parrett, of Continental; Mrs. Cora Good, of Toledo; Harvey D. Allen, of Lima; Mrs. James (Agnes) Lentz, of Milan, Mich., and Charles Allen, of Latty.

Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m., but the place of the service has not fully been decided upon. Interment will be in Truro cemetery, southwest of Columbus Grove.
