Susan E. Delano, 59, of Murphy's Corner Road, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at the Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
She was born in Bath on Nov. 14, 1940, a daughter of Duncan H. and Roberta Manson Farrell. She was educated in the local schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1959, followed by post graduate work at North Yarmouth Academy. In 1963 she graduated from Maine Medical Center's School of Nursing.
On May 19, 1979, she married Owen H. Delano.
She was a nurse at Togus Veterans Hospital, Bath Memorial Hospital, which later became Mid Coast Hospital Bath, as well as Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. For 17 years she worked as a nurse at Bath Iron Works in the first aid department. She enjoyed travel, camping, time at the beach and golfing. She was a member of the Bath Country Club.
Survivors include her husband of Woolwich; her mother, Roberta Doyle of Bath; a daughter, Mrs. Joel (Heidi S.) Bruce of Bath; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dale (Lisa) Sukeforth of New Gloucester; a stepson, Scott Delano of Woolwich; a brother Peter M. and his wife, Linda Farrell of Round Pond; a granddaughter, Devon S. Green of Bath; and six stepgrandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Murphy's Corner Cemetery in Woolwich.
