Andrew Matsko was born in a town called Mikohaza in Austria-Hungary. He married Margaret Mary Berres in Brooklyn, NY on September 21, 1913. They had three children: George Edward Matsko, Joseph Matsko, and Irene Matsko Murray. When Margaret passed, he married Anna Matta in September 1950. They retired to Coxsackie, NY where they lived in a small, close-knit community of other retired slovaks. Andrew liked to play cards. He had a beautiful white complexion, rosey cheeks and clear blue eyes. His head was partially bald and very shiny. He was a loving and kind grandfather.
