Charles William was born in De Witt County, IL. on Nov. 10, 1924, a son of Claude Bateson and Christena Monkman. He married Aldora Lucille Funk on Nov. 4, 1949 in Clinton, Ill. She passed away on October 20, 2002.
Surviving include; one son Art (June) Bateson, four daughters, Sharon Korwald, Beverly Reeser, Carol Vaccaro and Shawndra Bateson; one brother: John Bateson; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
