Mrs. Brown was a native of Cobb County, moving to Valdosta and then to Milledgeville in 1988. She was the daughter of the late George D. and Nancy Ann Lanier Brown and preceded in death by her husband Earl Lamar Gunter and daughter Virginia Ruth Scarbrough. She was a member of Montipelier United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons Edward Lamar Gunter (Diane) of Charlotte, N.C. and Elmer Eugene Gunter (Kathleen) of Milledgeville; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her special "little girls" Cheryl Cole and Linda Nelms.
